Colgate feels much more residential and self-contained, while Fordham feels more tied to New York City and less centered on one all-encompassing campus community. At Colgate, most students live and socialize in Hamilton, so campus events, clubs, traditions, and weekends tend to revolve around the school itself. At Fordham, especially at Rose Hill, you still get a real campus, but student life is shaped far more by being in the Bronx and having easy access to the rest of the city.

One big difference is what students do when classes end. At Colgate, a typical weekend is more likely to involve campus parties, student organization events, athletic games, and hanging out in residence halls or nearby spots in a small college-town setting.
