Is Cornell or UNC more fun as a college experience?

Cornell can absolutely be fun too, but its social life tends to feel more self-directed, more spread out, and more shaped by the intensity of the campus and Ithaca itself.

UNC tends to click for students who want social energy built into everyday life. Franklin Street gives the school a real center of gravity, and basketball season creates a shared campus rhythm that a lot of students rally around even if they are not huge sports fans. The weather also matters more than people expect. Being able to walk around comfortably, hang outside more often, and take advantage of a lively college town makes UNC feel active in a casual, easy way.

Cornell is often more fun for students who like creating their own version of fun rather than stepping into one dominant campus vibe. Ithaca is beautiful and students often love the outdoor scene, campus traditions, and close-knit communities within colleges, clubs, project teams, Greek life, or residence houses. But the size of campus, the colder climate, and the academic pressure can make the experience feel less effortlessly social. People definitely find strong friend groups there, though it can take more intention.
