UNC tends to feel more cohesive and school-spirit-driven for undergrads focused on day-to-day campus life. Chapel Hill is very much a college town, basketball culture is woven into student life, and a lot of social energy centers on a shared campus identity. UCLA absolutely has a big social scene too, but it often feels more spread out because of Los Angeles and the sheer scale of the university.

At UNC, Franklin Street, residence halls, campus traditions, and athletic events all feed into one concentrated student atmosphere, so it is easier for campus life to feel central to your week.
