UC Davis or Arizona State for business: which is the better overall choice?

UC Davis usually carries stronger overall academic prestige in California and can open doors well on the West Coast, while Arizona State is often more accessible on price, offers a very large business ecosystem, and has strong career infrastructure because of the size of the W. P. Carey School. For business specifically, ASU has a more prominent standalone business identity, while UC Davis benefits from the broader UC brand and a respected overall university reputation.

If your goal is a classic undergraduate business experience with lots of recruiting activity, business majors, student organizations, and a large alumni base in business, Arizona State has a real advantage. W. P. Carey is one of the best-known parts of ASU, and that matters because business students often benefit from employer visibility, specialized resources, and a school culture where business is a central focus rather than one strong option among many.

UC Davis is still a very good choice, especially if you want the UC name, a strong academic environment, and better positioning in California. It can be especially appealing if you may shift interests, add another field, or want access to the broader UC network. Davis also tends to feel more traditional college town and less sprawling than ASU, which some students prefer.

For overall undergraduate business value alone, I would lean Arizona State unless UC Davis is coming in at a similar cost or you know you want to build your career in California and strongly value the UC brand. ASU is simply more business-centered at the undergraduate level, while UC Davis makes more sense when the university name, location, and broader academic reputation matter more to you.
