Its campus culture is shaped by big basketball energy, a strong residential system, and a warmer climate that keeps people out and about. Northwestern is also very social, but its vibe is more spread out, more independent, and a bit less all centered on one dominant campus identity.

At Duke, a lot of student life happens on campus and around campus traditions. Basketball is not just a sport there, it is a major social force, and events like tenting and game-day culture create a very visible shared experience. The residential setup also helps, since students often build strong communities through dorm life and student organizations that become a big part of their routine.
