Is USC or Arizona State better for business?

I’m trying to decide between USC and Arizona State for undergrad business, and I keep seeing different opinions online. I want to choose the school that would give me the stronger business education and better overall opportunities after graduation.

I’m mainly looking at the value of the degree itself and how well the business program is regarded.

The biggest practical tradeoff is prestige and network versus cost and accessibility. USC’s Marshall School of Business usually carries more national name recognition, a denser alumni network in finance, consulting, entertainment, and entrepreneurship, and stronger pull with employers who recruit selectively. Arizona State’s W. P. Carey School of Business is well respected, very solid academically, and often offers better value, but the USC degree tends to open more doors by brand alone.

If your question is strictly which school has the stronger business reputation, USC has the edge. Marshall is especially well regarded for undergraduate business, and USC’s location in Los Angeles helps with internships during the school year in industries like media, real estate, tech, and investment-related roles. The alumni network is a real factor there, not just a marketing point, because USC graduates are notably active in helping students connect to internships and jobs.

That said, ASU is not a weak option at all. W. P. Carey has a strong reputation, especially for areas like supply chain, analytics, and broad business training, and it sends graduates to good companies. For students who are motivated and proactive, ASU can absolutely lead to strong outcomes, particularly if the cost is much lower and you take advantage of internships, honors opportunities, and recruiting resources.

So if you are comparing the degree itself and overall market perception, USC comes out ahead. If the price difference is large, though, ASU can be the smarter investment, because business outcomes depend heavily on internships, networking, and how little debt you carry.
