UC Davis or UC Santa Cruz for environmental science: which is better for undergraduate research and career preparation?

I’m trying to choose between UC Davis and UC Santa Cruz for environmental science, and I’m mainly thinking about how strong each school is for undergrad research and getting ready for a career in the field. I know both are good UC options, but I’m not sure which one gives students better access to hands-on opportunities, labs, and internships.
