Is Northwestern or UCLA more fun as a college experience?

UCLA is often more enjoyable for students who like constant motion and variety. You have a large, lively student body, easy access to beaches, concerts, restaurants, internships, and all the unpredictability of Los Angeles. The weather also changes the feel of everyday life in a real way, since people are outside more and campus can feel active year-round.

Socially, Northwestern can feel tighter-knit, which some students experience as more fun because it is easier to find recurring communities and recognizable faces. UCLA can feel more exciting if you like scale, independence, and making your own version of college across both campus and city. Some students love that freedom; others find it less intimate.

A practical difference is how much effort you want to put into fun. At Northwestern, fun is often built into campus life and shared traditions. At UCLA, fun can be bigger and more varied, but you may need to navigate a larger environment and be more proactive.
