Is Arizona State or Emory better for a business degree?

For undergraduate business, Emory usually carries more national prestige, especially through the Goizueta Business School. Arizona State is still a very real contender, though, especially through the W. P. Carey School of Business, which is large, well resourced, and known for offering a broad range of business majors with strong career support. The better choice depends less on which school is “better” in the abstract and more on what kind of student and career path fits each environment.

Emory makes more sense for a student who wants a smaller, more selective academic setting and is aiming at fields like consulting, finance, or other roles where brand name and tight alumni access can matter a lot. Goizueta has a strong reputation with employers, classes tend to feel more personal, and being in Atlanta helps with internships during the school year. For a student who values close faculty access, polished pre-professional culture, and a campus environment where business is taken very seriously, Emory has an edge.

Arizona State fits a student who wants a bigger university, more flexibility, and a business school with lots of pathways. W. P. Carey is especially attractive if you want options across areas like supply chain, marketing, accountancy, analytics, and management, or if you like the idea of a large student network and a campus with a lot happening. ASU can be a smart pick for someone entrepreneurial, self-directed, and comfortable taking initiative in a bigger system where opportunities are plentiful but not handed to you as automatically.

If cost is similar and your goal is maximum prestige, Emory is the stronger undergraduate business name. If ASU is meaningfully cheaper, or you want a large, energetic campus with a very respected business school and practical outcomes, it can absolutely be the more sensible decision.
