Should I choose Baylor or Texas Christian University for college?

TCU often fits students who want a more intimate, polished campus environment, smaller classes, and a campus culture that many students describe as socially active but less overtly religious in day-to-day life.

Baylor is in Waco and has a bigger student body, so it usually feels more like a traditional major university experience. If you like the idea of Big 12 energy, a campus where faith is part of the institution’s identity, and lots of options in majors, student organizations, and campus events, Baylor often makes more sense.

TCU is in Fort Worth, and that location matters. Students who want easier access to internships, restaurants, city life, and a campus that feels residential but connected to a major metro area often lean TCU. It usually suits someone who values smaller class settings, close faculty access, and a student experience that can feel a bit more curated and personal.

On campus culture, Baylor can feel more tradition-driven and institutionally faith-centered. TCU has Christian roots too, but many students experience it as more religiously flexible and less central to daily student life. Socially, TCU sometimes has a more image-conscious, private-school feel, while Baylor can feel broader and a little more varied.
