Which is better for Greek life: University of San Diego or Tulane?

The biggest practical tradeoff is prominence versus balance: Tulane’s Greek life is more central to the undergraduate social scene, while the University of San Diego has Greek life but it tends to be a smaller part of campus life overall. At Tulane, fraternities and sororities are highly visible and often shape weekend social life, especially for students who want a big, organized party scene. At USD, Greek life exists and can be meaningful for members, but the campus culture is less dominated by it and more spread across other communities, activities, and the broader San Diego setting.

If you care a lot about fraternities and sororities as a main source of social life, Tulane is the stronger comparison. Its Greek system is widely known for being active, socially influential, and more embedded in student culture. Students who want tailgates, themed events, chapter identity, and a campus where Greek affiliation carries more weight usually find Tulane closer to that experience.

USD’s Greek life is more present than some people assume, but it does not usually define the school in the same way.
