For computer science specifically, Santa Clara usually has the clearer edge because it sits in Silicon Valley, has stronger day-to-day access to tech internships, and is more commonly seen by students as a direct pipeline into software and engineering roles. USD can still work well for CS, but it is not usually the school people point to first for industry-connected undergraduate tech preparation.

Santa Clara’s School of Engineering gives computer science a more established engineering-centered setting, and that matters if you want classmates, faculty, projects, and recruiting to feel tightly tied to the tech sector.
