Is Georgia Tech or the University of Michigan better value for tuition and career outcomes in engineering?

I’m trying to compare Georgia Tech and the University of Michigan as a high school senior looking at engineering. Both seem like strong schools, but the cost difference and the long-term value matter a lot for my family.

I’m mainly wondering which one tends to give better return on tuition in terms of reputation, internships, and job prospects after graduation.

On reputation alone, there is not a meaningful enough gap in engineering outcomes to justify a much higher price at one over the other. For internships and entry-level engineering jobs, both schools open doors nationally. In practice, the better tuition value is often Georgia Tech when it comes in noticeably cheaper, while Michigan becomes easier to justify when merit aid, in-state tuition, or family preference brings the total cost closer.
