A lot of people are paying not just for classes there, but for location, recruiting access, and a network that reaches well beyond Long Island.

Adelphi fits the student who wants a smaller, more personal environment and is being offered enough aid to keep debt low. That school can be a smart buy for students in areas like nursing, psychology, social work, education, and some health-related tracks, especially if they will benefit from closer faculty attention and a less overwhelming campus experience. If Adelphi leaves you with much less debt, that financial breathing room can easily outweigh the branding advantage Fordham has.
