The pre-med population is large, so it can feel less hand-held, though many students like that there is room to build your own path without the atmosphere feeling relentlessly cutthroat.

It does not have its own medical school, but being in the Boston area matters a lot for pre-med students because hospitals, labs, and healthcare nonprofits are close by.
