Is UVA or UCLA better for campus life?

For feeling connected, UVA often has the edge. Charlottesville is smaller and more college-centered, so it can be easier for undergrads to feel that campus is the social hub. UVA is also known for strong school traditions, a visible student identity, and a culture where campus events and communities can feel tightly woven into daily life.

UCLA absolutely has strong spirit too, especially around athletics, student organizations, and major campus events. But because it is a larger public university in Westwood and part of LA, students sometimes have to be more intentional about building community. The upside is that campus life can feel incredibly lively and exciting, with access to the city, internships, food, entertainment, and a very active student scene.
