Should I choose UCLA or Purdue for data science?

I’m trying to decide between UCLA and Purdue for data science, and I’m stuck because both seem like strong options. I’m mostly thinking about the overall undergrad experience, especially how the major is structured and how it might affect my learning and future career prep.

I want to understand how people usually compare the two schools for data science, beyond just the name recognition.

If the prices are similar, I would lean toward UCLA for the combination of academic flexibility, location, and broad data science applications, but Purdue is a compelling pick for a student who wants a more technical campus atmosphere and a highly structured STEM experience.
