Is Oxford or Yale better for studying classics?

Oxford has the edge for classics. That format can make the academic experience feel more rigorous and more specialized earlier on than at most American universities.

Yale is still outstanding, and its classics department is highly respected, especially for students who want elite training within a broader liberal arts framework. Yale may feel more flexible academically because of the U.S. system, and it offers excellent faculty and resources in languages, literature, history, and ancient Mediterranean studies.
