For finance careers, is Indiana University Kelley or Fordham University better for recruiting and internships?
I’m trying to choose between Indiana and Fordham and I want to study finance. I’m mainly focused on which school has stronger recruiting, internships, and overall access to finance jobs after graduation.
I know both can lead to a career in finance, but I want to understand which one tends to give students a better path into the industry.

For finance, Indiana Kelley usually offers the broader and more structured recruiting pipeline, while Fordham stands out most for students who want to intern in New York during the school year and build connections there early. Kelley has a very established undergraduate business brand, a large alumni network in finance, and specialized programs that can open doors to competitive roles. Fordham benefits from being in NYC, which makes part-time internships and frequent employer access much easier.
Kelley is especially compelling for the student who wants a deep on-campus recruiting ecosystem. Banks, consulting firms, and major employers know the school well, and Kelley has a long track record of placing students into finance roles across investment banking, corporate finance, commercial banking, asset management, and related fields.
Fordham makes the most sense for the student who is highly proactive, wants to be in the city, and plans to take advantage of in-semester internships. Being in Manhattan can matter a lot if you want to work part time at a finance firm, attend networking events without traveling, and gradually build a professional base in New York. That access is real, but it is also less of a built-in system than Kelley’s larger business-school recruiting machine, so students often need to drive more of the process themselves.
If your priority is the strongest overall undergraduate finance recruiting platform, Kelley has the edge. If your priority is living in New York and getting hands-on internship exposure during the academic year, Fordham has a distinct advantage.
