It is known for a beautiful residential campus, smaller classes than a typical large public university, and closer day-to-day interaction with professors. Students who want a more contained campus community, a polished campus environment, and access to the city, beaches, and internships in Southern California often find USD especially appealing.

Socially, Delaware can feel more energetic and traditional, while USD often feels more curated and lifestyle-driven. That does not mean one is more fun than the other, but the vibe is different. Delaware suits students who are comfortable in a larger crowd and want to shape their own path; USD suits students who want a somewhat more intimate setting where the campus experience is a bit more centered and structured.
