Which school has better internship opportunities, University of Arizona or ASU?

ASU has the edge for internship opportunities. Its location in the Phoenix metro area puts students closer to a much larger concentration of employers, and that matters a lot when you are trying to intern during the semester, not just over the summer.

Location is the biggest practical difference. ASU students in Tempe, Downtown Phoenix, and Polytechnic are near major companies, startups, hospitals, government offices, media organizations, and nonprofits, which makes part-time in-semester internships much more accessible. University of Arizona students in Tucson can absolutely get good internships too, but the local market is smaller, so students often rely more on summer opportunities, research, or programs that require looking beyond the immediate area.

Industry access is another separator. ASU tends to be especially well connected in fields tied to the Phoenix economy, including tech, finance, supply chain, real estate, healthcare, and public sector work. Arizona has strong opportunities in areas like research, optics, astronomy, defense, and certain health-related fields, so for some majors it can be excellent, but across a wider range of common internship-heavy majors, ASU usually offers more volume and variety nearby.

Career support also favors ASU slightly because of its scale and employer-facing programs. The university puts a lot of emphasis on internships, applied learning, and partnerships. Arizona is not weak here at all, especially for students who use faculty connections and research-based experience well, but if your main question is which school makes internships easier to find during college, ASU is the more advantageous setup.
