Is UC Irvine or Boston University more prestigious for college applications and job recruiting?

So if the question is pure overall prestige in a broad, general college-and-career context, Boston University has a slight edge. If the question is real recruiting value for certain industries or for California-based opportunities, UC Irvine can be just as strong and sometimes stronger in practice.
