How does the social life at Cal State LA compare to UC Irvine?

Even though UCI is not known for a huge party culture, it tends to be easier to run into the same people repeatedly, build friend groups through housing and organizations, and feel like campus is a central part of daily life.

Cal State LA has a more commuter-heavy feel, which changes the rhythm of social life. Many students go to class, work, and head home, so campus can feel less consistently active outside the middle of the day.
