For undergraduate business, University of Washington is usually the stronger option if your priorities are recruiting depth, alumni reach, and access to a larger business ecosystem during college. If you are admitted directly to Foster, that matters a lot here.

UW tends to fit the student who wants a more intensive pre-professional environment. Foster is known for strong undergraduate placement into areas like consulting, marketing, accounting, information systems, and finance, and Seattle gives you real access to internships during the school year, not just in the summer. For a student who wants to network early, join case competitions, and build toward competitive recruiting, UW usually offers more momentum.

UC Riverside makes more sense for a student who wants a business path with a less pressured atmosphere and may value smaller-scale access to opportunities in Southern California. UCR’s School of Business is respectable and can absolutely lead to good outcomes, especially if you are proactive, but it does not usually offer the same level of employer pull or undergraduate recruiting volume as Foster.
