Clemson vs USC for business: which is better for undergrad business majors?

I’m trying to decide between Clemson and USC for business, and I keep seeing different opinions from people. I want a school where the business program is strong and has good opportunities for internships and jobs after graduation.

I’m comparing them as a high school senior who wants a solid undergrad business experience, not just a name on a diploma.

For undergraduate business, USC has the edge if you mean the University of South Carolina. Its Darla Moore School of Business is especially well known at the undergraduate level, and Columbia offers more direct access to the state capital, major employers, and internships during the school year.

USC fits the student who wants business to feel central to college life. The school has a stronger identity around business, and a wider range of structured opportunities tied to finance, international business, operations, supply chain, and consulting-style experiences.

Clemson fits the student who wants a classic college-town campus, big school spirit, and a business education within a university that is often better known for engineering, STEM, and its overall student experience. Its Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business offers solid academics and career support, but the surrounding location is less internship-heavy during the semester than Columbia.

For internships and job outcomes, USC is usually easier to justify if your priority is business-specific recruiting and professional networking. Columbia gives students more proximity to government, corporate offices, and regional employers, and the Darla Moore brand carries real weight in business circles, especially in the Southeast.

Clemson makes more sense when you like the school substantially more as a place to live for four years and you are confident you will still seek out internships, networking, and leadership opportunities aggressively. Between the two, USC is the more business-centered option, while Clemson is the stronger pick for someone choosing based on overall campus fit and then building a business path within that setting.
