Boston College, meanwhile, benefits from being near world-class hospitals and research institutions, even though those opportunities can require more initiative to secure.

Wake Forest usually gets the edge on advising and preparation in a very direct sense. Its pre-health advising is well established, and students often describe the path to med school as highly visible on campus. It also has strong undergraduate science programs and meaningful clinical and research connections through the medical school and affiliated health system, which can make it easier to build a cohesive pre-med profile.
