Is Duke or UChicago more prestigious for college admissions and recruiting?

Neither has a clear overall prestige advantage. Regionally and culturally, Duke can feel a little more universally recognizable to the general public, while UChicago can feel especially impressive to people in academic, analytic, and policy-oriented spaces. Neither one is likely to limit you. Most people familiar with selective colleges would see them as peers, with Duke sometimes getting the edge in mainstream professional recruiting and UChicago sometimes getting the edge in pure academic prestige.
