It also tends to offer more day-to-day variety in campus life, student organizations, and social scenes simply because of its size and location.

One major differentiator is environment. UT is woven into a large, fast-growing city with strong connections to tech, government, media, and startups, so your college experience can extend well beyond campus. Notre Dame is much more self-contained, residential, and tradition-driven, which can be a big plus if you want a tighter campus community where school spirit, dorm culture, and shared rituals shape daily life.

Another difference is academic structure and flexibility. UT’s scale means a huge range of majors, minors, research options, and interdisciplinary paths, and it can be especially compelling in fields tied to business, engineering, computer science, communications, and public policy.
