What is the campus culture difference between Clemson and the University of South Carolina?

The biggest day-to-day tradeoff is environment: Clemson feels more self-contained, outdoorsy, and tradition-heavy, while the University of South Carolina feels more urban, varied, and connected to city life in Columbia. At Clemson, the campus and town are closely tied together, so student life often centers on campus events, athletics, lake activities, and hanging out within the university community. At South Carolina, students still have strong school spirit, especially around SEC sports, but there is usually more happening off campus too, with restaurants, neighborhoods, internships, and nightlife woven into the experience.

Clemson’s culture is often described as close-knit and very school-pride driven.
