UChicago’s quarter system moves quickly, so science sequences and extracurricular commitments require disciplined scheduling; students who thrive under sustained intensity may find that motivating, while those who need more time to absorb difficult material may prefer a semester-based rhythm. Harvard can offer more institutional breadth and a wider range of ways to build a pre-med profile, but students still need to actively seek mentorship and avoid overcommitting.
