Being in New Jersey puts students much closer to the New York City job market, North Jersey corporate offices, and a large concentration of finance, consulting, marketing, and operations internships. That proximity matters a lot when companies recruit during the semester, host in-person events, or expect interns to commute part time.

Rutgers Business School benefits from a denser pipeline to employers in Newark, Jersey City, and Manhattan. Students can reach networking events, coffee chats, and semester internships more easily than they usually can from UConn’s Storrs campus. For business fields where relationship-building starts early, especially finance and corporate roles, that access can create more chances to get in front of recruiters before junior summer.

Another differentiator is alumni reach in the Northeast business corridor. Rutgers has a very large alumni base across New Jersey and the NYC area, which tends to be useful for informational interviews, referrals, and employer familiarity with the school.
