Alabama usually feels bigger, louder, and more centered on traditional SEC campus culture, while South Carolina tends to feel a bit more balanced between big-school spirit and a city-connected social life. At Alabama, football weekends shape the rhythm of the semester in a major way, Greek life is very visible, and the campus social scene often revolves around school traditions and large organized events. At South Carolina, school spirit is still strong, but Columbia gives students more off-campus options, so the vibe can feel less campus-contained day to day.

One of the clearest differences is how self-contained the social environment feels. Alabama in Tuscaloosa has a classic college-town setup, so a lot of student life stays concentrated around campus, student organizations, residence halls, Greek houses, and game-day traditions.
