Is Penn State or Wake Forest more fun for undergraduates?

A lot of students describe the social scene as active but more influenced by friend groups, Greek life, and organized campus events than by the kind of constant mass energy you get at a place like Penn State.

If your idea of fun is packed game days, lots of different kinds of people, and a campus that feels busy almost all the time, Penn State is likely the more exciting option. If your idea of fun is a tighter social network, strong traditions, and a more intimate campus feel where you see familiar faces often, Wake Forest may be more enjoyable.

For an average student specifically, Penn State is usually easier to experience as "fun" right away because the scale creates more built-in activity. Wake can absolutely be fun, but it often rewards students who are proactive about finding their people and leaning into the social structures already on campus.
