If you learn best by doing, and you want your resume to build early, Northeastern is hard to beat.

UMass Amherst’s Isenberg School of Management is also well respected and can be an excellent choice, especially if value matters a lot. Isenberg has a strong reputation in business, a large alumni network, and solid recruiting outcomes, particularly for students who take advantage of clubs, networking, and internship planning early. For many students, especially in-state students, the price difference can make UMass Amherst the smarter overall investment.

UMass Amherst tends to suit students who are comfortable being more proactive about creating their own professional momentum. You can absolutely land strong internships and jobs from Isenberg, but the path may feel a little less baked into the academic structure than Northeastern’s co-op system. If you want a classic large-campus experience, strong school spirit, and a business program with real credibility at a lower cost, UMass Amherst is very compelling.
