Boston University vs Georgetown for pre-med: which is better?

For pre-med specifically, Boston University usually has the edge if you want sheer scale in science, research, and medical-center access. BU has a major built-in advantage through Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and Boston Medical Center, plus it sits in Boston, where hospitals and labs are everywhere. Georgetown is also very strong, but it is often seen as a bit more intimate and advising-focused rather than stronger on raw research volume.

At BU, the biggest strengths are access and proximity. You have extensive biomedical research opportunities, a large range of STEM courses and majors, and strong connections to clinical settings both on campus and across Boston. For a student who wants to get involved early in lab work, shadowing, or hospital volunteering, BU can offer a lot simply because the ecosystem is so large.
