Does the University of San Diego support international students?

I’m a high school student looking at colleges in the U.S., and I’m trying to understand whether the University of San Diego is a good fit for international students.

I want to know if it offers the kind of support international students usually need, like help with adjustment, academics, or campus life.

Yes. The University of San Diego does support international students, and it has a dedicated International Center that helps with immigration advising, adjustment to campus life, and practical transition issues. USD also offers orientation and advising for international students, and provides broader academic and wellness support through campus offices.

For adjustment and day-to-day support, the International Center is the main resource. It typically helps with visa and immigration questions, maintaining student status, employment-related guidance such as CPT or OPT processes, and programming that helps students settle into life in San Diego and on campus.

Academically, USD offers the same core support services available to all undergraduates, including academic advising, faculty office hours, and writing support. If English is not your first language, those writing and communication resources can matter a lot, especially during the first year.

For campus life, USD has student organizations, cultural communities, and a residential campus environment that can make it easier to meet people and get involved. San Diego is also an attractive location for many international students because of its climate, airport access, and cross-cultural environment.

One thing to keep in mind is that “supportive” does not always mean “large international population.” USD is a private Catholic university with a solid international support structure, but the overall feel is still that of a mid-sized residential campus rather than a huge global university.
