What is student life like at the University of San Diego?

Student life at the University of San Diego is generally active, social, and very tied to the campus setting. USD is a mid-sized Catholic university, so it tends to feel more personal than a huge state school while still offering plenty to do. The campus is residential, the weather makes outdoor life easy year-round, and students often describe the community as friendly and involved.

Outside class, a lot of student life centers on clubs, campus events, recreation, and San Diego itself. There are many student organizations, plus intramural and club sports, and the campus rec culture is strong because students take advantage of the gym, outdoor spaces, and nearby beaches. USD also has Division I athletics, and while it is not usually described as a rah-rah sports school, games and school events still help build community.

The location matters a lot in daily life. The campus overlooks Mission Bay and is close to downtown, the beach, and neighborhoods where students go for food, internships, and weekend plans. That said, USD is not a school where everything happens off campus.
