How do I fill out the CSU Fullerton first-year application correctly?

I’m a high school senior trying to apply to CSU Fullerton as a first-year student, and I want to make sure I’m entering everything correctly. The application has a lot of sections, and I don’t want to make a mistake on something basic like classes, activities, or personal info.

I’m looking for help understanding how to complete the application in a straightforward way without missing anything important.

To fill out the CSU Fullerton first-year application correctly, use the Cal State Apply application carefully and match everything to your official records. The most important parts are entering your personal information exactly as it appears on school documents, reporting all A-G courses and grades accurately, and listing your senior-year courses exactly as scheduled. CSU Fullerton reviews the information you self-report, so mistakes in coursework, grades, residency, or intended major can cause problems later.

Start with the basics: legal name, date of birth, citizenship or residency status, Social Security number if you have one, and contact information you check often. Use a personal email address, not a school email you might lose after graduation. If a parent’s education, household, or residency section appears, answer it carefully because it can affect fee waivers and classification.

For academics, use your transcript in front of you and enter every high school you attended. Report courses exactly as they appear, including honors, AP, IB, dual enrollment, and repeated classes.

In the A-G matching area, classify each course into the correct subject area as accurately as possible. Do not guess if a class title is unclear; check your school’s approved A-G course list through UC/CSU course lists or ask your counselor. If you took college classes, report the college separately and include course titles, terms, and grades if completed.

For extracurriculars, work, volunteer service, leadership, and family responsibilities, be concise and factual. Enter what you actually did, how long you did it, and any leadership roles or major commitments.

Before submitting, review your campus selection, and application fee or fee waiver. Save a PDF copy of the submitted application and check your email and Cal State Apply account regularly afterward, because CSU Fullerton may request updates or documents through its applicant portal.
