What is the difference between Boston University early decision and early action?
I’m trying to decide which application plan makes the most sense for Boston University. I know both are early options, but I’m confused about how they differ in terms of commitment and what happens if I’m accepted.
I want to understand the basic difference so I can figure out which option fits my situation better.

At Boston University, Early Decision is binding and Early Action is not offered. If you apply ED and are admitted, you are expected to enroll at BU and withdraw applications from other schools, assuming the financial aid package is workable. BU has two binding rounds, Early Decision I and Early Decision II, rather than an EA option.
So for Boston University specifically, the choice is not ED versus EA. It is binding Early Decision versus nonbinding Regular Decision. If you are certain BU is your top choice and comfortable with the commitment, ED may fit. If you want to keep your options open and compare admissions and financial aid offers, Regular Decision is the better fit.
