Does Harvard have an honors college or honors program for undergraduates?

I keep seeing people mention honors colleges when talking about different schools, so I got confused about whether Harvard has something similar for undergrads. I’m a high school student trying to understand how academic honors work there before I apply.

I want to know whether there is an official honors college or honors program at Harvard, or if honors are handled in some other way.

Harvard does not have a separate honors college or a general undergraduate honors program in the way many large public universities do. Harvard College is already the undergraduate college, and academic distinction is usually handled through department-level honors, Latin honors at graduation, and advanced academic opportunities such as thesis work, research, and small seminars.

At Harvard, many concentrations let students pursue an honors track, often by taking more advanced coursework and sometimes completing a senior thesis or major independent project. Harvard also awards Latin honors at graduation, including cum laude, magna cum laude, and summa cum laude, based on overall academic performance and faculty recommendations rather than membership in a standalone honors college.

So if you are looking for something like a separate residential honors college, the answer is no. If you are looking for ways strong students are recognized and challenged, Harvard absolutely has those, but they are built into the regular Harvard College experience rather than organized as one centralized honors program.
