About
I graduated from Harvard University summa cum laude and then completed my master’s degree at the University of Michigan and the postgraduate diploma program at the University for Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. I have helped dozens of students gain acceptance to their top-choice schools including Harvard, Yale, MIT, Columbia, Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, and Duke. I have also advised and mentored thousands more through my livestreams. In addition to my work in college consulting, I am a professional conductor and a multi-instrumentalist. I currently serve as Assistant Conductor of the Columbus Symphony, Music Director of the Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra, and Music Director of The Apollo Ensemble of Boston. I have also worked as a cover conductor with the New York Philharmonic, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Nashville Symphony, the Buffalo Philharmonic, and many more.

How I work
I meet students where they are, and I am flexible in my approach depending on what they need most. In a longer-term package, I help students identify the best schools and programs for them, and I work with them to build a balanced school list, develop and polish their college essays, leverage their extracurricular activities, prepare for interviews, and draft letters of continued interest (if they are deferred or waitlisted). I coach students on negotiating financial aid, and I provide decision support if they struggle to choose between multiple schools. I also offer short-term packages and hourly advising and essay editing for students who are only looking for more specific kinds of help. While I have assisted students in gaining acceptance to some of the most elite universities to the US, I have also advised students for whom getting into a four-year college at all was a meaningful accomplishment. I have advised large numbers of both domestic and international applicants, and I have worked with students applying to all kinds of colleges and programs, including dual degree programs, combined/accelerated programs, business schools, engineering schools, architecture schools, music schools, theater programs, and more. I have also have helped many students transfer from one university to another. Finally, I occasionally assist students seeking admission to graduate school - both Ph.D. and Master's programs - but in a more limited capacity (usually just essay or statement of purpose editing). I am happy to work with any student, no matter what your grades, test scores, and achievements look like. And no matter who you are, there is always a way to better showcase your accomplishments and thus expand your options when decision time ultimately arrives.

I was a transfer student myself, and I very much enjoy working with transfer applicants. Students I have advised have successfully transferred to Harvard, Brown, USC, the University of Michigan, and more.
